Self-propelled sprayers are becoming an increasingly popular option for farmers, such as the Case IH’s Patriot sprayers, as they provide a significant boost in productivity compared to their tow-behind sprayer counterparts.
Such sprayers often have a number of features such as GPS and auto-steering technology, allowing for more accuracy when spraying crops. There’s also a new Auto Boom feature that reduces the potential for spray drift by monitoring boom height and adjusting accordingly. Sensors also help to keep the boom at the proper height and avoid damage caused by the boom hitting the ground.
The streamlined functionality allows farmers to focus on getting an accurate spraying job done rather than have to worry so much about steering. In addition, it reduces the potential for operator error. Better still, the system on-board stores information for later benchmarking and analysis. This way, farmers can monitor their productivity and make adjustments as needed.
